About Citizens Energy Plan (CEP)

Citizens Energy Plan is a grassroots organization created to develop a comprehensive, non-partisan, sustainable, secure, and affordable national energy plan.

CEP was established through a group of five common U.S. citizens with an uncommon vision – to mobilize our great nation toward developing a national energy plan free of the biases and political motivation that has hampered similar efforts in the past.

Our mission is twofold:

First, we intend to engage all American Citizens to “Join the Conversation” as new members. This will require people to show personal resolve that, despite the price of oil or the stability of the Middle East, now is the time for us to come together and do what is right for our country, our children, and our grandchildren.

Second, we plan to develop a national energy plan that includes all energy interests. In order to develop a plan that can be sustained everyone must be welcome at the table including traditional energy sources, emerging resources and technologies, environmental groups, education and research institutions, citizen groups, corporations, small business, and farm producers.

A word of caution: While self interests of each group should be brought to the table for discussion, it must be understood that the others at the same table, and their interests, are respected and included as well.

Achieving a comprehensive national energy plan that can survive the test of time will hinge on whether we the people stand up to hold ourselves and our leaders accountable. Envision a multitude of individuals, thousands of corporations and organizations pledging the CEP vision. Together we will provide the path and safety for our industrial and political leaders to develop a national energy plan that is for the people and not colored by one sided political agendas, special interest groups and industrial groups.
